Music was created for the purpose of worshipping and praising God. Not only was the ability to worship built into man, but also the desire to worship. The Devil, wanting to supplant the worship belonging to God, has perverted mans’ target of music and song, by promoting behaviors and ideas not of the Lord so you will not focus on God. This is also true in Christian music to the extent that Christian artists will not mention the name of Jesus in their music taking away the power behind that name from their music. God wants to receive pure worship whose focus is on giving Him glory and promoting an atmosphere conducive to bringing others into worship of the King.
